With all the great entries in our last contest we are curious what you will come up with this time. The topic is "Desert Warriors" and this can be either on this planet or another, in the past or the future. There is no limit. And no, we talk about sand, not cake. This time the prizes are:
-
1 license for 3D-Coat
-
1 license for Clip Studio Paint
-
1 copy of Selah by Faraz Shanyar
-
Firestarter Magazine #3 and #4
-
Social media features
-
Please post your entry in this thread directly and make sure you send it until 30th of August at 12am (Berlin time).
Each participant can only send one piece and it must be a new one.

Ah man, this one sounds fun! Sadly I can't partake this time; got 4 other paintings to finish by the end of the month. :X
Good luck to everyone!

"The sound of the wind sanding against leather, steel and bone was their constant companion as their journey brought them to the final strech. As irony would have it, the dead beasts were more afraid of what lie ahead than their masters..."
Hey peeps! I submit this as my entry - the subject just rang of Frazetta for me (might have been the turpentine tho) so went down this route.
Hope you like it :)
Cheers!

"And on the seventh day, just as promised, the necromancer used his ancient magic
to raise the warriors of battles past and their beasts , to free the desert's sacred
grounds from the foreighners , who were seeking its burried treasures..."

"They scouted the land of the desert planet many times before...bear all the scars on their skin...yet still they find the will to hunt for their mirage...and a renewed thirst for being careful...for what lies in the sand truly is unpredictable!"

Тhe Azure Medjay and the Shadowless Priestess
Really sad I didn't get to spend more time on this one. But it was really fun, pushed me towards developing a story and trying out a new approach to speed painting. If anyone is interested in the story it can be found in the Contest WIP section. And of course, any opinions are very welcome.

Hello everyone!
So my decision is as follows:
The winner: Bota Harko
Absint - lovely composition but some of the rendering and light was not strong enough but a great effort
Very nice colors and palette, very Frazetta in it's delivery
Runner ups (in no particular order) :
Aumes Ronoy - I really liked the feel and character design in your piece but there was some odd compositional choices and anatomy occurring which nudged it back a tad.
MYart - very nice character design but for me the upper body was too noisy to snatch first place.
